- 6th Mar. Red Cross records show Hannah age 25 years was living at 25 Gerald Street, Benwell, Newcastle on Tyne when engaged as a Voluntary Aid at the Military Hospital Colchester. There are two record cards for Hannah one registers heras Winifred Swindale of 25 Gerald St Benwell, Newcastle on Tyne and one Hannah Windlow Blencowe which shows her full service in WW1A series of photos from the website https://greatwarhomehospitals.wordpress.com show staff at Colchester Military Hospital . Mostly person are unknown so possibility one is Hannah.

- 6th May. Ended service at Military Hospital Colchester presumably because of husbands illness. Hannah married in June quarter so just after quitting Nursing.
- 16th Jun. Husband John Arnold Blencowe, Engine Room Artificer 3rd Class, Royal Navy died of illness at Chatham. John was buried at Elswick Cemetery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
- 1st Oct. Engaged at Queen Mary’s Military Hospital Whalley.
