- 16th Jun. Enlisted with RAF as a Private 2. and was attached to RD (Reserves?)
- 14th Jul. Attached to SJR. (unsure what this is short for possibly Squadron J Riggers).
- 4th Aug. Attached to SJHC.(as above).
- 14th Sept. Qualified as an Aircraft Rigger. Aircraft riggers handled the installation, repair and adjustment of the many cables and wires in the aircraft structure and control system, and the fabric covering.

- 15th Sept. Posted to No. 250 Squadron. The squadron was formed on 10 May 1918 at Padstow from Nos.494, 500, 501, 502 and 503 Flights for coastal reconnaissance duties over the Bristol Channel and its approaches. Equipped with a mixture of D.H.6s and D.H.9s, it flew anti-submarine patrols until the Armistice and disbanded on 31 May 1919.
An Airco DH.9A of the Royal Air Force (RAF), with examples of the bomb types carried. The wire rigging was what George was responsible for maintaining.

- 7th Feb. Sent to Discharge Centre Chilisdon.
- 10th Mar. Discharged and transferred to RAF Reserve.
MEdals
Unlike WW2 no medals were struck for an Airmen like George who although based with a combat Squadron was ground crew and not overseas.
After the War
George at some point enlisted in the Ox and Bucks LI as records show he was discharged from the regiment on 16th Nov. 1930. Note; His full military record is obtainable from the Dept of Defence for 30 pounds. ref details are:
