  • 1st Jun. Drafted while working for George A Drake and Co. Detroit. Occupation Paper Ruler. Card states previous service 8 months with the ONM.
  • Listed as a Naval recruit in 1917 Seaman 3rd Class, Apprentice Seaman Washington National Guard Pamphlet.

Its very likely that Loyal was with the US Navy operating in the Pacific. There was very little combat action for the Navy in this Ocean in WW1 and so we can expect that loyal had a fairly quiet war service.
