  • 11th Dec. Enlisted home address at the time 179 Drake St Rochdale; occupation Wheelwright. Medical shows very poor eyesight and for this reason, Albert seems to have been on a tour of British regiments serving with numerous units in the 5 yrs of service, Of ‘Bantam height’ he would not also have been suitable for regular army fighting units and seems to have been in labouring roles with regiments and the ASC.
