1917-1918
  • Likely conscripted at the age 18 years. No records exist.
  • Fred appears on Page 440 of the Birmingham City Battalions Book of Honour indicating he was in employment at The Electric & Ordnance Accessories Company Ltd, Cheston Road, Aston, Birmingham. Strangely this became a car manufacturer in 1914 in addition to armoured plate manufacturing. It became the Wolseley Car factory after the war.
