I’m a genealogist and researcher that has spent the last year working on a WWI project with the British Home Children Advocacy and Research Association. Myself and a small group of family and friends run the Closet Skeleton Genealogical Society which hosts a website of family trees and heraldry information. I’m a descendant of Alice Bentley, who’s sister Mary Ann wed a British Home Child named William Henry ‘Harry’ Blincoe who was born b. 4 Jul 1878, Princes End, Tipton, Sandwell, West Midlands, England. We have not yet located Harry’s family, but Roger was irreplaceable in my personal research in seeking them out. Harry was sent to Canada with Mrs. Birt’s Liverpool Sheltering Home and arrived in Knowlton, Quebec where he likely became an indentured servant at the age of 17. Harry served a fitful service in World War I, ranked as a Private in the Canadian Army Medical Corps, Service No. 33305. He returned was medically unfit with Myalgia, after which time I have not been able to track him. I believe he might have headed to Chicago, Illinois, in the United States of America. Myself and other Bentley descendants continue to work on putting the Blincoe family history together.”
