  • Dec. Bertram enlisted early December 1915 judging by regimental number (178988 enlisted 11 Dec 1915).

The 2nd Reserve Bn. was based at Royal Engineer Headquarters and were designated to supply the 7th Division with reserves during WW1.

1916
  • 18th Nov. Bert was ill while at Chatham his mental state seemingly drove him to commit suicide.1 His gravestone is at Chatham.
