Little is known of Jack’s Merchant Navy service in WW1 just one record found. He doesn’t appear in the medal role and so he may have had little service of consequence.

    • Dear Mr Christison, Thank you for your sympathy re my younger son having been killed in action. I have sent the letter to my wife with a request that she will give you the details you require as she has kept all his letters. Before my retirement from the sea, I was not closely in touch with my family’s doings and having being evacuated since 1940, my wife kept all Ralph’s records. He was a navigator trained in South Africa and at the time of his last flight in Feb 44 was mine laying in Stirling. Yours very trulyJohn Blencowe, Late commodore B.I.S.N.Co Ltd.
