1918
- 1st Jan. – 10th Jul. Attended Naval Training School in the Great Lakes Illinois.
- 10th Jul. – 11 Nov. Attended the Naval Radio School at Cambridge Mass.(Harvard).
The Armistice signed the day training completed so unlikely Frank had any overseas duty.
1919
- 8 August. Passenger on the ship Moline returning from Algiers to New York. Age 24 a US NAVY Wireless Operator What was the reason for this travel, was he sent as a US Navy man back to US from Algeria for instance.or was he assigned duties of certain Cargo ships as a wireless operator. This apparently was not unusual, Frank Blincoe’s presence aboard SS Moline as a Navy Radio Electrician fits squarely within the documented practices of the time. He was likely assigned to maintain communications during a postwar repatriation or diplomatic mission — a common duty for Navy wireless personnel in 1919.
