WW1
Blinko Bertram Henry, 1880, Beaconsfield, Bucks, Private, 123485, Royal Army Medical Corps.
1917
Enlisted likely in 1917 (serial number 123503 enlisted 27th Jul 917).
Bertram a Butcher along with his brother Willie had a family business reliant on them and could have been exempted from service initially and then both called up in 1917 as the need for more reinforcements was getting critical.
It’s possible that Bertram was employed by the RAMC as a butcher in its Canteen facilities. However, he could have been employed for tasks such as Stretcherbearer.

The medal card doesn’t indicate which RAMC unit Bertram was with, we only know that he served overseas and survived the war. Likely discharged in 1919.

It would seem that the Blinko Butchers on London End Beaconsfield was too close as both Willie and Bertram were conscripted. Both brothers did not return to work as Butchers after the war it seems from the later records.
