WW1

William George Dandy A/Cpl 56422, Royal Army Medical Corps.
1915
- 27th February enlisted at Worcester
- 7th August posted overseas to the Balkans
We do not have any clues to Williams RAMC role, the date of 7th August as the date of entry into the field of combat in the Balkans makes highly likely he was to take part in the Gallipoli Campaign.

After the evacuation of Gallipoli, we do not know what happened to William, except to say he became a radio repairman by 1939 (was this as a result of Army signals training? in WW1). It is also notable that he died very young 41 and this could have been as a result of war injuries/sickness.
Medals
William was awarded the 1914-15 Star for his service in 1915 in the Balkans. In addition, he received the British War medal and the Victory medal
