Spatcher William 1898 Northampton, Private, 6910, 22394,  Machine Gun Corps, Northamptonshire Regiment.

Synopsis

There are no clues to which Northants battalion William joined and when he did in fact join up  What we do know is that most of the men with Machine Gun Corps 4 digit numbers were with Battalions as machine Gunners before the MGC was formed in 1916. So from this we can suppose that William was with a Northants Battalion that trained him and used him as a Machine Gunner before his transfer
