Tyler Percy, 1899, Whitfield,Pioneer, 378412, Royal Engineers, Signals
1918
- 26 July. Joined at Bedford age 18 and occupation Post Office Telegraphist. and assigned to RE Signals Depot at Fenny Stratford. This was likely the RE signals training depot at Staple Hall. Fenny Stratford.

Note: This history from the website staple-hall-camp.html shows that by the time percy was sent to the Depot it was exclusively a Depot for training Wireless Signals staple-hall-camp.html “In late 1917 the camp changed its status from Signals to Royal Engineers (Wireless) Depot with the telecommunications moving out and wireless personnel moving in.” Percy was the son of Sheperd so we dont know what schooling he had or if in fact he was sent to the Depot to do more with his pre war occupation Telegraphist . He was a Pioneer rank so likely he was trained as a wireless signaller operator. As can be seen after the war he did re- join the Bitrmingham Post Office..
- He was assessed medically while in service in May 1918 as a B1 health and A1 by November 1918.
1919
- 7 February. Sent to dispersal centre at Purfleet where he was demobilised.
- 1 October. Engaged by Birmingham Post Office as a S C &T , Sorting Clerk and Telegraphist grade.
