Note we do not know exactly which RFA units Wills was with, we do know he was in Salonika in March 1919 when he changed to a Voluntary Army position and served until sometime before April 1921 when the census records him as an unemployed Soldier.

It seems though that we can say that in 1916 William was to travel to Salonika Greece and take part in the Balkan battles of 1917-1919

  • 10 August. Battle of Horseshoe Hill. Lake Dorjan. William could have been in the Balkans for this battle.
1917
  • 24 -25 Apr and 8-9 May  The Battles of Doiran. William likely took part in this battle.
1918
  • 23 September. Battle of Doirjan. Likely was involved in this battle as divisionaL Artillery of the 26th Division.
1919
  • 23 March. End of period of war service
