  • 13th Sept. Enlisted on 18th birthday occupation Clerk.
  • Posted to 32 Training Depot Station which was Training School in Montrose Scotland.

    Montrise 32TDS was flying at this time three aircraft the Avro 504, Royal Aircraft Factory SE5a and Sopwith Camel. Hector was a cadet officer in training at this time. Joining late into the war he didnt complete his cadetship.

    RFC Cadets wore white hat bands to distinguish themselves at RAF stations ie not yet qualified to fly etc.

  • 3rd April. 32 TDS was disbanded and Hector was sent to Edingburgh for demobilisation
  • 3rd May  Placed in RAF reserves.
