WW1
1914-1918

During this period both Getrude and William likely met when both workers at the Banbury Shell Filling Plant. This was not an unusual event as this WW1 photo of Munitions couple attests.

From Flickr collection Munitions workers somewhere in England and mostly couples it seems.

There is a You Tube video made about the Filling works gives a good insight to the Factory go to You Tube search for Banbury Filling Factory
