• 28^th Jul. Mobilised at Winchester age 38 years, with the 13^th Labour Bn. Royal Berks. Occupation Milk Purveyor living at 86 Napier St. Portsmouth.
• 4^th Sept. Discharged unfit to serve sick.

There is no record found of James receiving the Silver War Badge but he was entitled to receive and wear this to show he was honourably discharged by the Army.
